Obituary:

Harold Lee Dodson, son of the late William Freddie and Jewel (Bradshaw) Dodson, was born on April 21, 1939 in Norwood, Missouri and departed this life on Saturday, July 14, 2012 in the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, following an extended illness.  He was 73 years, 2 months and 23 days of age.

Harold grew up in the Hastings, Nebraska area and graduated from Hastings High School in 1958.  He later moved back to Norwood where he was united in marriage to Hazel Farr on February 7, 1963.  Seven children were born to this union. 

Harold worked at various jobs around the Norwood area, which included a town police officer and service station employee.  He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when tinkering on cars and raising flowers. 

Harold loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and visiting with his friends. 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Freddie Dodson; and by two sisters: Marie Dodson and Ilene Fagan.

He is survived by his wife: Hazel Dodson of their home; four sons: Harold Lynn Dodson, Randy Dodson, and William Dodson, all of Norwood, and Gary Dodson of Springfield, Missouri; three daughters: Robin Bailey of Holiday, Florida, Pamela Smith and her husband, Troy, of Chapmansboro, Tennessee, and Tammy Hibdon and her husband, Colin, of Tipton, Missouri; one brother: Carl Dodson of Montana; one sister: Ruby Victor and her husband, Joseph, of Pleasanton, Kansas; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and neighbors who will miss him very much.
