Nellie Fern (Peachee) Kemper

Graveside Service: Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Cemetery in Mountain Grove, Missouri.

 

No Formal Visitation -Friends may call at their convenience in the funeral home on Friday, July 27th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery.

 

Memorial Contributions: Trinity United Methodist Church – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital c/o the funeral home.

 

Obituary:

Nellie Fern (Peachee) Kemper was born on September 14, 1910, to Henry and Maud (Barnes) Peachee, in Wright County, Missouri, and departed this life on July 25, 2012, in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, at 101 years of age.

Nellie was united in marriage to Malcolm Kemper on October 2, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri. They moved to Argo, Illinois, where they lived until Malcolm retired in 1970 and they returned to Mtn. Grove.

 

Nellie was a homemaker who loved working with children in the Argo Community Center, singing at her church and various social functions and teaching Sunday School.

 

Nellie was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where she was a devoted choir member for many years. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-eight years: Malcolm Kemper; a sister: Gladys Hollingsworth; a step-sister: Edrie Lindholm; and by four nephews: Albert Kemper, Walter Kemper, Larry Hollingsworth, and Allen Hollingsworth. 

 

She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Glenn and Ytoka Kemper, Kay Herring, Larry and Karen Kemper, Polly and Dennis Johnson, Malcolm and Judy Kemper, Joyce Kemper, Janet and Archie Ladd, Russell and Joyce Lindholm, and Sharon Hollingsworth; and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
