Earlene Dennis

December 11, 1941 — June 4, 2018

Marcella Earlene (Stambaugh) Dennis, daughter of the late Alvin Glen and Thelma Nadean (Halliburton) Stambaugh, was born December 11, 1941, at Hams Prairie, Missouri, and passed away June 4, 2018 at Cox Health Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri. She was 76 years, 5 months, and 24 days of age.

Earlene and her family moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri, where she graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1959. Earlene and Edwin Dennis were married on August 11, 1961 at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Norwood, Missouri. Three daughters were born to this union.

She worked for Brown Shoe Factory in Mountain Grove for many years. When the shoe factory closed she went to work for Paramount Hat Factory, and then Norwood Schools. Earlene had many hobbies. She enjoyed quilting, collecting coins, gardening, and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed genealogy, and she could tell who and how everyone in Wright County was related. She thoroughly loved watching Wheel of Fortune. Earlene loved to travel; it didn’t matter where it was, as long as she was going somewhere.

Earlene was saved at a young age. She was a faithful member and secretary at Mt. Zion No. 1 Free Will Baptist Church in Norwood, Missouri.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, in 2009, and her son-in-law, John Cook, in 2014.

Earlene is survived by three daughters, Pamela Jean Cook, Patricia Lee Finch and her husband, Donald, and Aleth June Rogers and her husband, Joseph, all of Norwood, Missouri, six grandchildren, Donavan Finch and his wife, Josey, Danyiel Pridemore and her husband, Anthony, Allan Cook, Jamie Cook, MiKayla Dusenberry and her husband, Sam, and W.J.
