Edna E. Snyder

Edna Elizabeth (Cheves) Snyder, daughter of the late Bernard and Minnie (Crider) Cheves, was born January 23, 1927, in Kansas City, Missouri, and departed this life May 7, 2018, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 91 years, 3 months, and 14 days of age.

Edna was united in marriage to Walter C. Snyder on March 10, 1946, in Olathe, Kansas. Three children were born to this union: Walter Jr., Connie, and Kathy. They raised their family in Freeport, Texas, where Walter was employed as a chemist at Dow Chemical Company. After his retirement, Walter and Edna moved to their farm north of Mountain Grove, Missouri.

Edna enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting. She made beautiful quilts, and she loved to give them as gifts. Edna was also an artist, and she loved painting. She has paintings displayed throughout her house that she was proud of. She also enjoyed gardening.

Edna was a member of Dawson Assembly of God Church, and she also attended Crossroads of Faith Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Snyder, and her sister, Bernice Broadbent.

Edna is survived by her son, Walter Snyder Jr. of Kema, Texas, three daughters, Connie Powell of Nixa, Missouri, Kathy Varnado of Freeport, Texas, and Betty Helms of Reeds Spring, Missouri, many grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
