John David Pointer was born on July 1, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas and passed quietly from this life on Friday, July 27, 2018 at his home on the farm near Mountain Grove, Missouri, following an extended illness. He was 63 years and 27 days old.

He was adopted as an infant by David and Lorraine Pointer of Great Bend, Kansas. The family moved to Mountain Grove in 1960.
