Madell Moody

June 25, 1920 — September 10, 2017

Madell Campbell Moody, daughter of the late O.T. and Chloe (Shaw) Campbell, was born June 25, 1920, in Wright County, Missouri. She passed from this life and went to her home in heaven on September 10, 2017. She was 97 years old.

In her early years, she lived in Kansas for a short time and then moved back to Missouri. In 1934, her family moved to California and worked on the Gill Ranch and then moved back to Wright County, Missouri.

In 1934, she met Howard Moody. They married on June 26, 1936. They were married 65 plus years until Howard passed away in 2002.

They had two sons, Bob and Sherrell. They moved to St. Louis, Missouri, and lived there for three years and then moved back to Mountain Grove. Madell worked at Brown Shoe Company for two years. They bought a farm outside of Norwood where they milked cows. Madell later went to work for Tobin Hamilton Shoe Company and worked there for eighteen years.

She was a long time member of Corinth Baptist Church, which she loved to attend.

Madell enjoyed doing many things including going to Branson Music Shows and Silver Dollar City. She gardened, made quilts, and was known for her great cooking and meals. Madell loved her family dearly, she was very blessed and lived a good long life.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, a brother, Clifford Campbell, a grandson, Curtis Moody, a niece, Pam (Campbell) Adams, and one great-great- grandson, Trey Moody.

She is survived by her two sons, Bob and his wife, Barbara, Sherrell and his wife, Rosalie, one brother, F. E. Campbell and his wife, Ann, two grandchildren, Diana Singleton and her husband, Leon, Lonnie Moody and his wife, Martha, five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Moody and his wife, Christy, Dillon Moody, Robert Singleton, Dacie Dale and her husband, Andrew, Renee Riley and her husband, Jeremiah, a nephew, Dennis Campbell and his wife, Donna, great-great grandchildren, Colton Moody, Blake Moody, Reace Singleton, Jonathon, Jack, and Emma Dale, Tristen, Dakota and Caden Riley, and many other nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
