Peggy Schoneboom

September 20, 1940 — April 28, 2018

Margaret Rose “Peggy” Schoneboom, daughter of the late Frank Luellen and Dorothy Frances (Solomon) Jenne, was born September 20, 1940, in Norfolk, Virginia, and passed away April 28, 2018, in Cox Health, Springfield, Missouri. She was 77 years, 7 months, and 8 days of age.

Peggy grew up living in many different places, as her father served in the United States Navy. Because of this, she got to see a lot of areas in the world that many people never have the opportunity to see. Growing up, she was very close to her sister, Rita. This was a bond that would never change.

At the age of 19, Peggy met the love of her life in Guam, Derald Lee Schoneboom. They were united in marriage January 31, 1961, in Compton, California. Two sons were born to this union, Charles Andrew and Frank Dewayne Schoneboom.

Peggy enjoyed being a homemaker and was always a hard worker. She also went to school, earned her Associates Degree, and in 1974, went to work in the Head Start program and became manager in California. In 1993, she and Derald moved to Missouri and she became the Head Start manager for Mountain Grove and Cabool. She retired in 2010. Peggy was a very patient person with everyone she encountered. She loved all the beautiful colors of the rainbow, nature, fresh air, cold clean water, and all of God’s beautiful creation. She greatly enjoyed her church family at Willow Springs Free Will Baptist Church. In her spare time, Peggy liked to read a good book. She and Derald also traveled together and saw many wonderful places.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dorothy Jenne, and by her grandmother, Rose Totten.

She is survived by her loving husband of their home in Mountain Grove, Derald, two sons, Charles Schoneboom and his wife, Melissa, and Frank Schoneboom all of Springfield, Missouri, one sister, Rita Frances Ryan and her husband, Terry, of Nashville, Tennessee, other relatives, church family, and friends who will dearly miss her.
