Ronald Deeds

Ronald Allen Deeds, son of Clark and Clobell (Weaver) Deeds, was born December 7, 1947 in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life on Saturday May 27, 2017 at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was 69 years, 5 months, and 20 days of age.

Ron spent his younger years working on the family farm and learning his trade as a general contractor. He was well known in the community for his hard work and fine craftsmanship. He took a great deal of pride in his work.

Ron was united in marriage to Joyce Virginia Hawkins on May 21, 1977 in Mountain Grove, Missouri and to this union three children were born. He was a devoted husband and father always providing and caring for his family. He stayed by his wife’s side through her lengthy battle with cancer before she departed this life in July of 2012.

Ron was an active member of Mountain Valley Church where he was the song leader for many years. He also spent many years as a volunteer fire fighter and first responder. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Ron spent his later years working on the farm with his fiancé Sharon. They enjoyed going out every day to check on the cows and see if he had any new babies. They also enjoyed their fishing trips, long drives around the country side and trips to Springfield where they had to eat at Golden Corral.

Ron was preceded in death by his father and mother, one sister, Virginia Housley, and his wife, Joyce.

He is survived by his fiancé, Sharon Skaggs, his children, Kristen Mitchell and her husband, Clint, of Springfield, Missouri, Shawna Plummer and her husband, Jason, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Corey Deeds of Mountain Grove, Missouri, three grandchildren, Katelyn Mitchell, Isaiah Deeds, and Jackson Plummer, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends that will miss him very much.
