1St Sgt. David Straub

1st. Sgt. David Keith Straub, USMC (Retired) was born 06 April 1945, in Bellefontaine, OH, to Lois McPeck and Jack Straub. 1st Sgt. passed away 01 March 2022, at the age of 76 at his home in Mansfield, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife Michelle “Shelly” (Sabin) Straub, his daughter Lisa Raffin, and son David Keith Straub II, 4 grandchildren, and 4 step-grandchildren from his first marriage, and with his current wife, 6 stepchildren, Melanie Eastman, Brandie Reece, Emilie Baty, Amie Dunkle, Richard Patterson II, Erik Patterson, 13 step grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A career Marine, David joined the Marine Corps straight out of high school. Being a Marine was not a job, but his identity and was driven by his love for his country. He was truly our Hero. He was an avid learner with 3 degrees.

He has been reunited with his beloved companion, Baby, and awaits his reunion with Franklin and Highway, when their time comes.
