Alice Jeannine Lawler

Alice Jeannine (Wade) Lawler, daughter of the late Charley Newton and Gertie Mae Ellen (Whited) Wade, was born on March 29, 1935, in Manes, Missouri, and departed this life on February 1, 2015, in West Memphis, Arkansas, after a short illness. She was 79 years, 10 months, and 2 days of age.

Jeannine was born and raised in Manes, Missouri, and attended Mountain Grove High School. In 1952, she met and then married the love of her life, William Benton Lawler.

After living several years in Texas, the family made their home in West Memphis, Arkansas, where she volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary for over 27 years, serving in various capacities including President. After her children were grown, she went to work at Best Western Restaurant in Marion, Arkansas, where she loved to make her special cobblers and other dishes for customers who became close friends over the years. After retiring in 1998, she loved traveling with her husband of 61 years.

Jeannine loved cooking, reading, and spending time with her family, where grandchildren could be heard calling others to tell them they just had a "Neen" breakfast. She was a strong pure hearted woman who was best friends to everyone who ever knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother: Charley Newton and Gertie Mae Ellen Wade; and brother: Clarel "Bud" Wade.

Jeannine is survived by her husband: William Benton Lawler; 3 daughters: Cathy Eubanks and her husband, Dick, of Russellville, Arkansas, Cindy Callan and her husband, Mike, of West Memphis, Arkansas, and Nancy Snow and her husband, Caleb "Buddy, of Stuttgart, Arkansas; 1 son: Billy Lawler and his wife, Jacque, of Oakland, Tennessee; 3 sisters: Pauline Elizabeth Dorris of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Betty Jean McClean of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Shirley Jeanette Riley of Independence, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.


Visitation: Friday, February 6, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Chapel.

Funeral Service: Friday. February 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel.

Burial: Manes Cemetery
