October 24, 1959 — April 13, 2011

Anna Monique Mackey, daughter of Eldon and Tinzie (Mims) Mackey, was born in San Diego, California on October 24, 1959 in the Balboa Naval Hospital and passed away on April 13, 2011 in Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, Louisiana, following a short illness, at 51 years of age.
Anna grew up in Virginia and graduated from Baseside High School in Virginia Beach. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Mtn. Grove, Missouri where she was employed at Brown Shoe Company for several years. She later made her home in the West Plains, Missouri area.
Anna was a loving and caring daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren whom, loving called her, “Apple Annie.”
Anna was an amazingly talented person who enjoyed flower arranging, stained glass, woodworking, baking, sewing and knitting. She could make anything that she wanted to. She was a member of the “Red Hat Ladies” in West Plains, Missouri, which she enjoyed very much.
She was very kind hearted and always put others first. She also had a heart for animals and would bring home every stray she came in contact with. She was a master gardener and could turn any yard into something that should be in a magazine. She took great pride in house keeping and in her beautiful yard.
She is survived by her loving parents: Eldon and Tinzie Mackey of Mtn. Grove; her son: Russell Schilling of Mtn. Grove; her daughter: Austyn Ellison and her husband, Joshua, of Cabool, Missouri; three beautiful grandchildren: Katlynn, Jakob, and Kiel Ellison; two brothers: Bryan Mackey and his wife, Peggy, of West Plains, Missouri, and David Mackey and Jan West of Mtn. Grove; her sister and best friend for life: Susan Taylor and her husband, Dan, of West Plains, Missouri; several nieces; nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other relatives.
At the time Anna passed away, she was residing in Opelousas, Louisiana. She had finally met the man she had hoped for, Robert Osteen. She had a beautiful home and was truly very happy.
