Barbara Gasperson

April 25, 1944 — March 7, 2023

Barbara Ann (Walls) Gasperson, was born to Floyd Jesse Walls and Wilma Grace (Branson) Walls, on April 25, 1944, at Cabool, Missouri. She grew up in Cabool and graduated from Cabool High School in 1962.


Barbara was saved at an early age and was a member of Mount Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church. She had been attending Blackjack church at the time of her passing. She was united in marriage to Jerry Keith Gasperson on December 21, 1962. One child, Joanna Lynn Gasperson, was born to this union on July 4, 1963, in Mountain Grove, Missouri.


Barbara worked as a medical technician and CNA at Mountain Grove Nursing Home. She later worked at the Brown Shoe Company where she retired after many years.


She had four granddaughters, Crystal Dawn who passed away on July 9, 1981; Alicia Deann Hicks born on August 18, 1983; Dolores Ann Finch born on June 15, 1987; and Brittany Leann Shannon born on December 22, 1990.


Barbara enjoyed spending a lot of time with her family. She liked gardening, canning, cooking (she made the best noodles), quilting, attending Mount Pisgah ladies aide, playing piano at church, and spoiling her kids.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Wilma Walls; her husband, Jerry Gasperson; granddaughter, Crystal Dawn; sisters-in-law, Ruby Walls, Audrey Smith, Barbara Blair, Jean Wake, and Bernice Gasperson.


Barbara is survived by one daughter, JoAnna Gasperson (Jack); three granddaughters, Alicia (Timmy) Hicks, Dolores (Chance) Finch, and Brittany (Ronnie) Shannon; great-grandchildren, Cassie (Trenton), Kylee (Jay), Kelcee (Dakota), Corey (Tatumn), Brexley, Jamison, Riley, Levi, Zane, Keyonna; one great-great-grandson, Hudson; two brothers, Gene Walls and his wife, Betty, of Dallas, Texas, and Ronnie Walls and his wife, Carlita, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, a host of other relatives and friends who will greatly miss her.
