Obituary for Bernice Marie Gasperson

Bernice Marie Gasperson, daughter of the late Charley Jarvis and Orpha Olene (Thornton) Clinton, was born March 21, 1943 in Vanzant, Missouri, and departed this life October 12, 2019 at her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 76 years, 6 months, and 22 days of age.

Bernice grew up in the Twin Bridges community and attended school in Willow Springs. She met her future husband, Gerald Gasperson, on a blind date at a wiener roast. The two were united in marriage on October 18, 1963. Two children were born to this union.

Bernice and Gerald raised their family in the Mountain Grove community. Bernice worked for nearly 10 years for the Brown Shoe Company. She also worked at New Era Sports Wear, Fordick, and most recently at Dollar General. Bernice was great in the kitchen whether baking or cooking. She loved preparing large meals for family gatherings. Gerald believes her to be the best cook ever. She was also a great seamstress and quilter. Bernice enjoyed camping, canoeing, and fishing. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by four brothers, Leon, Lenvil, Leroy, and Stanley Clinton.
