Bessie Violet Bennett

Bessie Violet Bennett, daughter of the late Jacob and Edna (Gleason) Weilbrenner, was born on March 8, 1921 in Bloomfield, Iowa, and departed this life on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at her residence near Mansfield, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 89 years, 3 months and 29 days of age.
Bessie grew up and attended school in Bloomfield, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Charley Bennett on August 21, 1940 in Ottumwa, Iowa. Five children were born to this union. They made their home in the Macomb and Mansfield areas for several years.
Bessie was a true homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. She also loved to take pictures, travel, and visit with her loved ones and friends.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, neighbor and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Bessie was saved at a young age and remained faithful throughout her life. She enjoyed attending church and was a member of the Mansfield Assembly of God Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Shirley Ann Range; two brothers: Edwin and Elmer Weilbrenner; a sister: Emma Baker; and by two grandchildren: Eugene Jr. and Eddie.
She is survived by her loving husband: Charley Bennett, of their home; two sons: Charles Eugene Bennett and his wife, Joyce, of Macomb, Missouri, and Phillip D. Marve Bennett and his wife, Janice, of Mansfield, Missouri; two daughters: Judy Pauline Caldwell and her husband, J.C., of Mtn. Grove, and Janet Charlene Turney and her husband, Doug, of Mansfield, Missouri; two sisters: Mary Walker of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Shirley Rodrigez and her husband, Gonzales, of Gresham, Oregon; nine grandchildren: Brenda, Cindy, Violet, Kent, Ken, Len, Rebecca, Douglas, and Jason; fourteen great-grandchildren: Kayla D., Grant, Tyler W., Paul, Jaime, Jasmine, Nikki, Cory, Haley, Jade, Whitney, Tyler F., Kayla B., and Adam; ten great-great-grandchildren: Ethan, Kaytlynn, Noah, Jaxon, Taylor, Luke, Alyssa, Kendall, Rowen, and Braylee; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friday, July 9th, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Friday, July 9th, 9:00 AM to service time in the funeral home.
