Betty Jean Mclean

March 5, 1929 — October 26, 2016

Betty (Wade) Harlamert-McLean, daughter of the late Charley Newton and Gertie Mae Ellen Wade, was born March 5, 1929 in Wright County, Missouri, and departed this life on October 26, 2016 in her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 87 years, 7 months, and 21 days of age.
Betty was married to Lavern Lee Harlamert on April 2, 1948 in Dawson, Missouri. They made their home near Hartville, Missouri, and later moved to Manes, Missouri. Betty worked at Fort Leonard Wood for many years cleaning the barracks and later retired to her current home in Mountain Grove with Lavern in 1987. She loved to crochet and visit with her many friends and family. She loved to bless her many friends and family with her crocheted doilies and tablecloths.
After Laverns passing on November 6, 1999, Betty was blessed to meet Lewis McLean and they married on July 5, 2001. Betty and Lewis made their home in Mountain Grove and spent 15 years together. They were members of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Mountain Grove and also attended the Ava church until her health kept them at home.
Although Betty never had any children of her own, her niece, Robin, spent many joyful hours with her and later became a friend that Betty and Lewis relied on in later years.
Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern Harlamert, one brother, Clarel Bud Wade, two sisters, Alice Jeannine Lawler and Elizabeth Pauline Dorris.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis McLean of their home, her sister, Shirley Jeanette Riley and her husband, Kevin, of Independence, Missouri, numerous nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives, neighbors, and friends that loved her dearly.
