Betty May (Hancock) Shelton

Betty May Shelton, daughter of the late Simon E. and Mary E. (Freeman) Hancock, was born on June 5, 1933 in Douglas County, Missouri and departed this life on March 14, 2011 at her residence south of Norwood, Missouri in Douglas County. She was 77 years, 10 months and 9 days of age.
Betty grew up and attended school in Douglas County. She was united in marriage to James Thomas “J.T.” Shelton in 1960.
She was a homemaker all her life. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens each year. She also liked to travel, collect dolls and spend time with her family and friends. She was very fond of her little Fox Terrier, “Princess.”
She is survived by her husband: J.T. Shelton of their home; one sister: Jewell Studall of Austin, Minnesota; and other relatives, neighbors and friends who will miss her very much.
