Beverly Jean Hefner

Beverly Jean Hefner, daughter of the late William Caleb and Glessie Mae (Turner) Creason, was born on November 4, 1935 in Iola, Kansas, and departed this life on January 19, 2017 in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 81 years, 2 months, and 15 days of age.
Beverly was raised in Iola, Kansas, and graduated from Iola High School. She then moved to Kansas City and worked as a telephone operator. While living in Kansas City, she met Eddie William Bill Hefner. They were united in marriage on July 30, 1955 in Thayer, Missouri. Three children were born to this union. Bill and Beverly moved to Mountain Grove where they made their home and raised their family.
Beverly enjoyed a career in nursing that spanned over 30 years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and baking. She also loved traveling with her sisters. Beverly was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Bill Hefner; one grandson: Adam Hefner; three brothers and three sisters.
Beverly is survived by one son: William Patrick Hefner and his wife, Sue, of Cabool, Missouri; two daughters: Julie Carr and her husband, Robert, of Adrian, Missouri, and Kelly Slayton and her husband, Jake, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Holloway, Nathan Carr, Sarah Highley, Jeff Carr, Andy Carr, Jordan Slayton, and Ali Slayton; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother: Bob Creason and his wife, Jill, of Paola, Kansas; one sister-in-law: Glenda Creason of Iola, Kansas; as well as other friends and family who will miss her.


Visitation: Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel

Graveside Service: Monday, January 23, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Hillcrest Cemetery

Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery

Memorial Contributions: Hospice Compassus or Alzheimer's Association in c/o the funeral home
