Bill Maddox

June 28, 1944 — April 15, 2017

Ralph William “Bill” Maddox, son of the late Ralph Marion and Marie Opal (Odor) Maddox was born on June 28, 1944 in Clarinda, Iowa, and went to sleep in Jesus on April 15, 2017. He was 72 years, 9 months, and 18 days of age.

Bill grew up and attended school at Arnold’s Park, Iowa. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. He enjoyed nursing and he was able to work at numerous different facilities over the course of his career. He was working at the Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, Missouri up until a few months before his passing.

He married Lois Jean Littrell on May 6, 1973 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Together they raised five children: Anna, Patricia, William, Esther, and Pollyanna. Bill’s faith was very important to him and he faithfully attended church until his passing.

Bill loved woodworking and gardening. He was a big gun enthusiast and enjoyed reloading ammunition.

Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Rogers.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of nearly 44 years, Lois Jean Maddox; five children, Anna Owens and her husband, David, of Sturgeon, Missouri, Patricia Reeves of Salisbury, Missouri, William Maddox and his wife, Lori, of Columbia, Missouri, Esther Saville and her husband, Chris, of Powell, Wyoming, and Pollyanna Tinker of Moberly, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Ethington of Oregon; and other extended family and friends who will miss him.
