Bobby Glenn Caskey

October 25, 1931 — September 11, 2018

Bobby Glenn Caskey, son of the late Reuben and Lillie Reba (Britches) Caskey, was born October 25, 1931, in Haskell, Oklahoma, and went to be with the Lord September 11, 2018. He was 86 years, 10 months, and 17 days of age.

Bob grew up and graduated high school in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and earned his college degree from Oklahoma State University. He married Fern Dixon in 1954. Two daughters were born to this union: Glenette and Carol. Bob and Fern lived most of their lives in Oklahoma City. She passed away March 8, 1971. He married Elaine (Shorter) Spurgeon June 19, 1982. They lived in Chesterfield, Missouri, for several years before coming to Mountain Grove, Missouri, in the early 1990’s.

Beginning in 1950, Bob spent over 40 years with Southwestern Bell completing his service as an executive in 1992. In addition to serving him well in his career, his attention to detail and natural athletic ability made him a superb golfer.

A primary joy of Bob’s post-retirement life was spending time at his farm north of Mountain Grove and sharing it with his family. He loved his cows, his land and his neighbors.

His strong Christian faith was evidenced by his service as a Gideon and as a Free Will Baptist church elder, Sunday School superintendent and usher.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Fern, and one brother, Thomas Lee Caskey.

He is survived by his wife of their home in Mountain Grove, Elaine Caskey, two daughters, Glenette Nothum and her husband, David, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Carol Steiner and her husband, Walter, of Kirkwood, Missouri, one step-son, Mark Spurgeon and his wife, Tami, of Ballwin, Missouri, two step-daughters, Jean Ann Hutchinson and her husband, John, of Ozark, Missouri, and Carol Dumm and her husband, Rick, of Maryland Heights, Missouri, one brother, Dale Caskey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one sister, Jean Marie Booth and her husband, Leonard, of Eureka, Kansas, ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many other relatives, friends, neighbors, and church family who will miss him dearly.
