Bonnie Ruby Murr

September 4, 1913 — April 2, 2009

Bonnie Ruby (Summers) Murr, daughter of the late Albert and Della (Wilson) Summers, was born September 4, 1913 in Wright County, Missouri on a farm between Lynchburg and Competition, Missouri. She departed this life on April 2, 2009 at St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri at 95 years, 6 months, and 29 days of age.

Bonnie graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1930 and began teaching in one-room rural schools. On January 30, 1937, she was united in marriage to Lee Alfred Murr. She and Lee moved to Washington State in 1945 and worked there for forty-two years before moving back to Mountain Grove.

Bonnie loved her church and was very active in mission work for the Trinity United Methodist Church. Some of the projects she participated in included: repairing and donating blankets, making hospital kits for newborns, making hundreds of bags for orphanages, and the Easter Egg Money Drive for food.

Besides her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, on November 4, 1993; and by two brothers: Raymond and Basil Summers.

She is survived by a niece, Bonnie Peterson and her husband, Ed; three nephews: Al Summers and his wife, Pat, Irv Summers and his wife, Sharon, and Adam Owens and his wife, Kristin; several great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was a loving and caring aunt. We celebrate her life and cherish many wonderful memories.
