Calvin Lee Walker

April 29, 1941 — May 5, 2009

Calvin Lee Walker, son of the late Judd and Thelma (Turner) Walker, was born on April 29, 1941 in Hartville, Missouri and departed this life on May 5, 2009 in the Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 68 years and 6 days of age.
Calvin moved with his family to California at a young age and attended school in San Jose and Winters. In his late teens, Calvin moved to Davenport, Iowa where he met and married Donna Baldwin on May 12, 1962. Three children were born to this union. They moved to Mtn. Grove in the late 1960’s and settled on a small farm on Mtn. Valley Road, where they raised their children. Donna passed away on February 14, 1999.
Calvin later married Kathy Kuster on November 9, 2005 in Macomb, Missouri.
He enjoyed tending to his horses and tinkering on his antique car. He also liked to hunt and fish and his favorite pastime was playing his guitar.
Calvin was a caring and kind husband, father, grandfather, brother, neighbor and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting his many friends.
Besides his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother: Larry Walker; and by three infant sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife: Kathy Walker, of their home; one son: Craig Walker of Mtn. Grove; two daughters: Sandra Shepherd of Springfield, Missouri, and Diana Randall and her husband, Kent, of Mtn. Grove; one step-son: Ben Leggins of Mtn. Grove; one step-daughter: Lisa Long of Mtn. Grove; one brother: R.L. Walker of Abbeville, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.

Friday, May 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Thursday, May 7, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
