Carl Bradshaw

Carl Lee Bradshaw, son of Walter Henderson and Martha Arminta (Sparks) Bradshaw, was born on August 12, 1941 in Wright County, Missouri and departed this life on May 10, 2007 at his son’s residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. He was 65 years, 8 months, and 28 days of age.
Carl grew up and attended school in Norwood, Missouri and graduated from Norwood High School in 1960. He lived most of his life in the Norwood Community. He was united in marriage to Mary Blackmon in 1962 and four children were born to this union. He later married JoAnne (Habel) Kelley and one son was born to this union. He also helped raise four step-children and treated them as his own.
Carl was well known in the Norwood Community and enjoyed tractor pulls, Bluegrass festivals, and stock car racing. He loved to sit and drink coffee at Lazy Lees in Norwood with his friends in his spare time. He was a long time mechanic in the community where he served many people and made many friends. He was also employed as a school bus driver for Norwood School for twenty-five years. He loved the kids and would volunteer to drive to many outings, ballgames, and field trips. He seemed to enjoy everyone around him and he never met a stranger.
He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved his family very much and looked forward to spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Tommy; one sister: Ruby; and by a son-in-law: John Barnes.
He is survived by his four sons: Johnnie Bradshaw and his wife, Tammy, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, Ronnie Bradshaw and his wife, Judy, of Norwood, Missouri, Steven Bradshaw and his wife, Tomoko, of Seattle, Washington, and Mark Bradshaw and his wife, Stephanie, of Norwood, Missouri; one step-son: Mike Kelley and his wife Kim, of Ozark, Missouri; one daughter: Tammy Barnes of Norwood, Missouri; three step-daughters: Justine Brown of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, Kim Bell and her husband, Chris, of Norwood, Missouri, and Tracy Tucker of Sparta, Missouri; two brothers: Jack Bradshaw and his wife, Jean of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and Jim Bradshaw of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; three sisters: Frances Hurt and her husband, Ray, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, Mary Lou Hutson and her husband, Darrell, of Lenexa, Kansas, and Judy Sullivan and her husband, Kenneth, of Norwood, Missouri; twenty-one grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Carl Bradshaw were held Monday, May 14, 2:00 PM in the Norwood High School Gym with rev. Zach Williams and Rev. Brandon McIntosh officiating. Sherry McIntosh and Christy McIntosh sang “Amazing Grace” and “What A Day That Will Be.” Pallbearers were Lorne Saladin, Andrew Bradshaw, Adam Contreas, Johnny Cramer, Dustin Irwin, and Derik Irwin. Honorary pallbearers were Albert John Barnes, Seth Bradshaw, Joshua Bradshaw, Gunner Bradshaw, Taylor Bell, Victor Brown, and Garrett Tucker. Burial was in the Curtis Cemetery under the directions of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
