Charles Archie Mathews

Charles Archie Mathews, son of the late William and Thelma (Dodds) Mathews, was born August 22, 1949 in Greenup County, Kentucky, and passed away June 18, 2017 in Select Specialty Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was 67 years, 9 months, and 27 days of age.

Charles was born and raised in Greenup County, Kentucky, and attended school there. He served in the United States Army where he fought and defended our country.

On August 2, 1984, Charles was united in marriage to Debra Casey in Greenup County, Kentucky, and started a family with Debra and her two children, Cristopher and Kelly.

He was a mechanic most of his life and loved to work on motorcycles.

Charles enjoyed Bluegrass music and loved to play the harmonica and banjo. He also enjoyed coin collecting and metal detecting and loved to play dice.

Besides his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Debra, two brothers, Frank and Fred, four infant siblings, and one infant grandchild.

He is survived by one son, Cristopher Lee Casey and his wife, Christina, of Foley, Alabama, one daughter, Kelly Tinsley and her husband, Stephen, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, two brothers, Roy of Mountain Grove, and Kenny of Florida, five sisters, Ida Ruth, Elaine, Linda, Della, and Donna all of Ohio, two grandchildren, Wesley and Alex Casey, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
