Charles 'Glen' Kennedy

July 23, 1934 — February 3, 2014

Charles Glen Kennedy, son of the late Joseph Daniel and Perly Mae (Freeman) Kennedy, was born on July 23, 1934 in Douglas County, Missouri, and departed this life on Monday, February 3, 2014 at his home east of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, at 79 years of age.
Glen lived in Douglas County until the age of five and moved with his family to Texas County. He attended the Walnut Grove School. He was united in marriage to Virginia Reed on September 10, 1956 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. Three children, Glenda, Edward “Buddy,” and Paul, were born to this union. They raised their family and made their home for over fifty seven years east of Mtn. Grove, where he was living at the time of his passing.
Glen was employed as a School Bus driver for Mtn. Grove Schools and was accident free for over thirty-three years.
Glen enjoyed being outdoors, riding his four-wheeler, camping, fishing, hunting, and earlier in life, cutting wood. He also liked piddling in his shop and working on cars.
Glen was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them and family get-togethers. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was saved at a young age and was a member of the Mtn. Grove Full Gospel Church.
He enjoyed attending services as long as his health permitted.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son: Edward Glen “Buddy” Kennedy; two brothers: Roy Nelson Kennedy and Edward Fletcher Kennedy; and by an infant sister.
He is survived by his wife: Virginia Kennedy of their home; his son: Paul Kennedy and his wife, Debbie, of Vanzant, Missouri; his daughter: Glenda Kentner and her husband, Ronnie, of West Plains, Missouri; twelve grandchildren: Chris Kentner and his wife, Toni, of Mtn. View, Missouri, Joey Kentner of West Plains, Missouri, Katie Kentner, of West Plains, Missouri, Dustin Kennedy and his wife, Janice, of Hutchinson, Kansas, Paul Edward Kennedy and his wife, Beth, of Drury, Missouri, Kytle Gibson and Nancy of Vanzant, Missouri, Atasha Gibson of Success, Missouri, Kenny Gibson and his wife Heather, of Mtn. Grove, Kevin Gibson and his wife, Jennifer, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tammy Burdic and her husband, Jerry, of Lebanon, Missouri, David Ward of Grovespring, Missouri, and Kimberly Scott and her husband, Jeremy, of Bellingham, Washington; twenty-two great-grandchildren and one on the way; special nephew: Charles Kennedy; special niece: Margie Tooley; four sisters-in-law: Sharrion Vandivort and her husband, Bill, of Houston, Missouri, Geneva Scheets and her husband, Benny, of Cabool, Missouri, Janice Duke and her husband, Duane, and Patty Reed of Cabool, Missouri; two brothers-in-law: Junior Reed of Mtn. Grove and Billy Reed of Lebanon, Missouri; and other relatives and friends.
