Charles James Mccleary

Charles James McCleary, son of the late, Benjamin Harrison and Mary (Parsons) McCleary, was born on May 24, 1938 in Douglas County, Missouri, and departed this life on July 3, 2013 at the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at 75 years of age.


Charles was raised in Douglas County and attended school in Douglas and Ozark Counties. He lived in Anderson and Redding, California where he went for employment opportunities and became a Timber Faller. There he met and married Janice Michlec. They were married on June 20, 1959. Three children were born to this union. Charles moved his family back to Douglas County in 1970.


Charles worked in timber all of his life. When he was younger, in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed riding horses.


Besides his parents, Charles was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.


He is survived by three sons: David McCleary and his wife, Dolly, of Mountain Grove, Clayton McCleary and his wife, Tina, of Neodesha, Kansas, Reese McCleary and his wife, Josie, of El Paso, Kansas; one sister: Sharles Holton and her husband, Delbert, of Springfield, Missouri; one brother-in-law: Art Schribner; one sister-in-law: Eileen McCleary; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
