Clifford Lansdown

September 12, 1938 — January 1, 2023

Clifford Eugene Lansdown, son of the late Virgil and Amie Dood (Moore) Lansdown, was born September 12, 1938, at Hartville, Missouri, and departed this life January 1, 2023, at home at Seymour, Missouri, surrounded by family. He was 84 years, 3 months, and 20 days of age.

Clifford grew up and attended school in Hartville, Missouri, and graduated with the class of 1956. After school, he joined the United States Army and served his country for a short time. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post #45 in Hartville for most of his life following his service. Clifford was united in marriage to Pauline Faye (Brown) Davis on March 9, 1963, and together they raised four children: Debra, Basil, Terry, and Jeff. He was always a hard worker and had numerous jobs throughout his life, but he was a wood cutter by trade. He cut wood for numerous people in the surrounding area, and many would say he was the best wood cutter around. He continued to go out and cut wood and mentor his employees until he could no longer due to his health.

Clifford was an animal and bird lover and he had many different ones on his farm. He enjoyed raising them and taking them to the swap meet. Clifford loved to be outside. He loved fishing, hunting, and pretty much any outdoor sport or activity. He also instilled his love of the outdoors in all of his boys. Clifford was one of the most selfless men that this community has known, and he was an honest man in every aspect of his life. He rededicated his life to the Lord last summer, and was baptized at the Seymour Nazarene Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Lansdown, his daughter, Debra Lynn Davis, one brother, Harold Lansdown, his sister, Wanda Lathrom, and one granddaughter, Teonna.

Clifford is survived by three sons, Basil Davis and his wife, Tracy, of Ava, Missouri, Terry Lansdown and his wife, Tammy, of Seymour, Missouri, and Jeff Lansdown and his wife, Cindy, of Hartville, Missouri, two brothers, Howard Lansdown and his wife, Betty, and Delvin Lansdown, thirteen grandchildren, Shaun, Rebecca, Radonda, Basil III, Landon, Jake, Ethan, Stephanie, Erika, Kayla, Leann, Dalton, and Blake, twenty great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and other extended family and many friends who will miss him.
