Darlene Ellen Tollin

March 16, 1929 — February 11, 2011

Darlene grew up and attended school in Minnesota and graduated from Frazee High School. She was united in marriage to Curtis P. Tollin on August 31, 1947 in Frazee and moved to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Three children were born to this union. In 1959, they moved their family to Broomfield, Colorado. They later moved several times around the state of Colorado from Delta, to Pueblo, Lamar, Pueblo West and Grand Junction and in 1999 they moved to Mtn. Grove, Missouri where they made their home.
Darlene was employed at the Broomfield Bank, and CI Square in Broomfield, Colorado. While living in Colorado, Darlene and her husband, Curtis were owners and managers of the Delta Packing Company, and while living in Pueblo, she was the office manager for two area doctors.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Darlene loved visiting with her family and staying with her grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, spinning, sewing, gardening and cooking. She liked being active on her computer and she was also active in the LWML.
At the time of her passing, she was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Houston, Missouri. She enjoyed attending as long as her health permitted.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Marilyn Madison; three brothers: Vernon, Marvin and Ronald Nieman; and by a grandson: Damon Tollin.
She is survived by her loving husband: Curtis Tollin of their home in Mtn. Grove; one son: Curtis J. Tollin of Sauk Center, Minnesota; two daughters: Linnea S. Dollard of Greeley, Colorado, and Kathleen J. Sidler of Danville, Pennsylvania; two brothers: Arthur Nieman of California, and Leland Nieman of Fargo, North Dakota; one sister: Irene Ponsford of Boulder, Colorado; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, friends, neighbors and church family who will sadly miss her.
