Darrell Everett Moore

Darrell Everett Moore, son of the late Everett and Ermil Moore, was born in Mountain Grove, Missouri, on June 28, 1928. He was raised in a family including two brothers and two sisters. He departed this life on October 16, 2016 at the age of eighty-eight years and four months.
Darrell graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1947. After graduation, he moved to Kansas City to work at General Motors. On July 4, 1948, Darrell was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Owens. In 1951, he purchased a farm north of Mountain Grove where he lived for sixty-four years. Darrell raised beef cattle while working at Brown Shoe Factory. He retired after forty-one years. He also served as the local Business Agent for Union 781.
Darrell loved to ride his fox-trotter horses in early years. He enjoyed working on the farm and taking care of his Black Angus cattle. His doors were always open for pies, cookies and a cup of coffee with family and friends. He enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching game shows, reruns of old westerns and of course, Judge Judy. He was a member and superintendent of the Mountain Valley Free Will Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by his brother: Wayne Moore and a brother-in-law: Galen Neher.
Darrell is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years: Wilma Jean; his daughter: Kathy McKay of Rolla, Missouri; his son: Gary Moore of Mountain Grove, Missouri; his granddaughter: Ashli Buesing and her husband, James, of Peoria, Arizona; his grandson: Josh McKay and his wife, Brooke, of Kaiser, Missouri; five great-grandchildren: Hunter James Buesing, Noah Liam Buesing, Savannah Grace Catherine Buesing, Tyson Mitchell McKay, and Liam Moore McKay; his brother: Jerry L. Moore and his wife, Janice, of Independence, Missouri; his sisters: Angilee Neher of Mountain Grove, Missouri and Jeanette Smith and her husband, Russell, of Blue Springs, Missouri; a sister-in-law: Doris Moore of Blue Springs, Missouri; many nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends who will miss him.


Visitation:
Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery, Mountain Grove.

Memorial Contributions: Mountain Valley Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
