Debbie Mayfield

November 1, 1958 — January 31, 2019

Debra Louise Mayfield, daughter of the late Eunice Sartor, was born November 1, 1958, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and departed this life January 31, 2019, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. She was 60 years, 2 months, and 30 days of age.

Debbie grew up in the Mountain Grove area and attended her first three years of elementary school in the Morning Sun Country School and then the Mountain Grove School. She was united in marriage to Orland Mayfield on March 20, 1977. Two children were born to this union, Andrew and Amanda.

Debbie was saved and baptized at an early age and maintained a love for the Lord in her heart throughout her life.

Debbie was kind and had a caring personality. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was an excellent seamstress who loved to sew and make quilts for her family and friends. Anytime she found out that a grandbaby was on the way, she made sure to start working on a quilt. She also enjoyed being outdoors and working in the garden.

When it came to caring for others, Debbie loved being a listening ear and offering a helpful hand and kind words of encouragement or advice. She held a very special place in her heart for Carol Sartor, whom she considered to be her second mother.

Besides her mother, Debbie was preceded in death by three brothers, James Keehner, who died in infancy, Hurley Byerley and Frank Keehner.

Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 41 years, Orland Mayfield, one son, Andrew J. Mayfield and wife, Katie Ann, one daughter, Amanda Herrera and husband, Fernando, ten grandchildren, Orland J. Mayfield, Lydia Brammer, Lewis Mayfield, Carrie Mayfield, Tessa Mayfield, Silas Herrera, Jasmine Herrera, Shyla Cheek, Naiomi Herrera, and Roman Herrera, five brothers, Alfred Byerley, Charlie Byerley, David Byerley, Richard Keehner, Robert Keehner, two sisters, Ruth Kelley and Shirley Johnson, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
