Debra Jean Felker

Debra Jean “Debbie” Felker, daughter of the late Merlin and Frances (Godwin) Cohun, was born on June 20, 1949 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and departed this life suddenly on January 2, 2008 at her residence in Norwood, Missouri, following a short illness. She was 58 years, 6 months, and 12 days of age.
Debbie moved with her family to Missouri and graduated from Norwood High School in 1967. She was united in marriage to Charles Kenneth “Chuck” Felker on October 7, 1967 in Mansfield, Missouri. Two children were born to this union. They made their home in the Norwood area for many years. Chuck preceded her in death on January 29, 1995.
Debbie was most recently employed in the Wal-Mart deli and had also worked as a convenience store clerk. She enjoyed working and meeting new people and visiting with her many friends.
At the time of her passing, she attended the Seymour Church of the Nazarene, Wolf Creek Freewill Baptist Church and the Union Grove (Caudle) Freewill Baptist Church.
Debbie was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she cherished with all her heart and considered her pride and joy. She will be truly missed by her family and friends who loved her very much.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father: Merlin Cohun; and by her father-in-law: Kenneth Felker.
She is survived by her son: Ron Felker of Norwood, Missouri; her daughter and son-in-law: Lori and Tyler Mills of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; her daughter-in-law: Shawn Felker of Norwood, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Courtney, Dustin, Cody Mills, Charles, John Ross, Lorna, and Claire Felker; her mother: Frances Cohun of Norwood, Missouri; one sister: Sandy Smith of Benton, Arkansas; two nieces: Renee’ Starkey of Benton AR. and Vicki Barnum of Strafford MO; her mother-in-law: Leah Felker of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters-in-law: Carolyn Little and Cindy Samford, both of Springfield, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Debra “Debbie” Felker were held Friday, January 4, 2008, 10:00 AM in the Wolf Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. John Williams and Rev. Mark Terrill officiating. Mark Terrill sang “The Anchor Holds.” Bernetta Williams sang “Because He Lives,” and “Peace In The Valley.” Pallbearers were Jerry Smith, Larry Smith, Verrell Kelley, Hubert Sanders, Doug Skidmore, and Jim Little. Burial was in the Thomas Cemetery, Norwood, under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.

Friday, January 4, 2008, 10:00 AM in the Wolf Creek Freewill Baptist Church, north of Mansfield, Missouri.
Visitation:
Thursday, January 3, 2008, 6:30 - 8:00 PM in the Church.
Burial:
Thomas Cemetery
