Debra Lynn Long, daughter of Fredrick Leo Jr. and Marion Lorene (Hoyle) Prus, was born on May 18, 1960in Anderson, Indiana and departed this life on November 7, 2009 at the Ozark’s Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri following a long battle with cancer. She was 49 years, 6 months and 11 days of age.
She was born and raised in Anderson, Indiana and graduated from Anderson high school. She had three children: David Franklin Long, Katrina Rosetta Marie Ellis, and Shelbie Ray Nicole Ellis. She loved animals and was known to adopt every stray animal that came along. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, growing flower and vegetable gardens and cooking; especially big Thanksgiving dinners. The joy of her life was her grandson, Hayden, whom she bragged about and spoiled as much as possible.
Debra worked in the school cafeteria while living in Indiana and enjoyed passing out snacks to the school children. She also enjoyed taking college classes in Child Development.
Debra attended church at Calvary Temple while living in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Robert and Betty Tomlinson, who were a very important part of her life.
Debra is survived by one son: David Franklin Long of Anderson, Indiana; two daughters: Katrina Rosetta Marie Ellis of Mountain Grove, Missouri and Shelbie Ray Nicole Ellis of Anderson, Indiana; one grandson: Hayden William Page; one brother: Bob Prus of Alexandria, Indiana; one sister: Lorrie Elder and her husband, Jeff, of Norman, Indiana; her parents: Fredrick and Marion Prus; one nephew: Brandon Elder; her girl’s father: Kevin Ellis and his parents: Herma and Doug White; and many other friends and relatives who will miss her dearly.
