Denise Louise Dixon

September 8, 1956 — August 22, 2021

Just after sunrise on the morning of Sunday, August 22nd, 2021, Denise Louise Dixon, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, passed into the waiting arms of her Savior at the age of 64 after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her husband and children and passed at home in familiar surroundings, the way she wished to be.

Denise was born in Dayton, Ohio to Kenneth and Delores Turner on September 8th, 1956. She graduated from South Webster, Ohio in 1974. She received a teaching degree from Marshall University, Huntington, WV, and taught in a public school for a year.

She married the love of her life, Joseph Dixon of South Webster Ohio, on July 7th, 1979, and together they had twelve children. Denise home-schooled her children throughout many moves around the Midwest.

Her children were her main source of joy and pride, and she often spoke of her 'cheaper by the dozen' family with pure love.
She was a constant advocate and loving matriarch for her ever expanding family, and she was always available to be a listening ear or a helping hand for her children and grandchildren. An avid seamstress and caretaker, she spent many days and nights creating and mending and loving her family with patched up clothes, blankets and hand-stitched dresses and clothing.

Gardening and cooking were well loved hobbies of hers, but rocking her many grandchildren to sleep in her loving arms was her favorite and most treasured joy.

If you ever needed a helping hand or a kind word she would always be there. Even for those who barely knew her.
She and her husband had many adventures over the years, but two of their greatest were running Morningland Dairy Cheese and Kracker Jack Kleening. They loved to travel together and she was so happy to take on new adventures with him.
Above all her accomplishments and interests, serving her Lord and Savior was her most important endeavor.
She will be greatly missed by so many who knew and loved her.

She was laid to rest in a family plot near Mountain View Missouri.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joseph Dixon of Mountain Grove Missouri, daughter Laura and her husband Christopher Kelley, daughter Emily Dixon, daughter Rachel and her husband Jason Carter and their children, Morgan, Rebecca, Kaitlin, Christina, and Evan, Son Isaac Dixon and his wife Elonah and their children, Alistair and Locklen, daughter Anna and her husband David Schultz, daughter Sarah and her husband Jacob Warner and their children, Aurora, Kayden, and Danielle, daughter Audrey Wilson and her children Patrick and Marshall, daughter Jessica Dirkers and her children Tristan, Lilliana, Rowan, and Brennan, son Andrew Dixon and his wife Sara and their children Donnigan, Shelby, and Baby Dixon, son Daniel Dixon and his girlfriend Hannah Mowery and their children Hazel Charles and Cain, daughter Rosalan Dixon, and son Matthew Dixon, her mother, Delores Turner, brother Terrence Turner and his family, sisters, Kimberly Reynolds and her family and Deborah Friend and her family. As well as close family friend Charles Hart and his family.

She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Turner, grandson Benjamin Carter, grandson Michael Dixon and granddaughter Saoirse Dixon. We know she is also holding and treasuring her other grandchildren that have gone on before their parents.

A Celebration of her life will be held on May 14th, 2022, at a yet to be determined location in or near Mountain Grove, Missouri.
