Devita Jarrett

Devita Jarrett, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Mathews) Garleff, was born on November 24, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, and departed this life on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at her residence in Lombard, Illinois, at 80 years and 11 days of age.
Devita grew up and attended school in Downers Grove, Illinois. She was united marriage to Billy Floyd Jarrett Sr. on September 15, 1973 in Chicago, Illinois. One son was born to this union. They retired to Norwood, Missouri in 1990. Billy passed away on November 15, 2002. Following his death, Devita moved back to Illinois to be near her family.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Devita enjoyed being outdoors, especially when tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She also liked to do puzzles and spend time reading.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her son: Billy Jarrett, Jr. of Lombard, Illinois; five daughters: Donita Heatly of Chicago, Illinois, Barbara Queen of the State of Indiana, Diane Golden and Sherley Montalvo, both of Chicago, Illinois, and Debra Trebithick; ten grandchildren: Jamie Sullivan, Samantha Heatly, Michelle Queen, Tony Gartner, Cheryl Young, Scott White, Steven White, Elizabeth Gutekansk, Frances Jarrett, and Billy Jarrett III; nine great-grandchildren: Gabriel Parra, Cody Luttman, Cortney Luttman, Nathaniel Gartner, Jeremy Gartner, Jocelyn White, Sidney Young,Genevieve Gutekanst and Stephen Gutekanst III; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Graveside Services:Friday, December 11, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Caudle Cemetery located near Norwood, MO.
Visitation:
Friday, December 11, 2009 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the funeral home.
