Dixie Lawson

May 3, 1936 — February 2, 2017

Dixie Louise Lawson was born May 3, 1936, to Otto Lynn and Audrey Murrell (Crisp) Lathrom near Rayborn, Missouri, and passed away February 2, 2017, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 80 years, 8 months, and 30 days of age.

Dixie grew up in Wright County, Missouri, and graduated from Mountain Grove High School. She married Franklin D. Lawson, on July 16, 1955. To this union 3 children were born: Deborah Sue, Franklin D. Jr., and Betty Jean.

Dixie was a homemaker and housewife until her children were grown. She then made a career of working in homes as a CNA for the elderly. She later worked a few years at Autumn Oaks Caring Center.

Dixie was saved and baptized early in life and served her God faithfully. She was an avid believer and attended church regularly, until her health declined.

Dixie loved taking long drives when the seasons changed. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music. Most of all, she cherished being with her family on the holidays.

Dixie was a loving mom, grandma, great-grandma, and new great-great-grandma. She was a kind hearted soul who would give anyone her last penny, if she thought they needed it worse than she did.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, a sister, Shirley, a grandson, Travis, and a great-grandson, Jordon.

She is survived by her ex-husband Franklin Lawson, her children, Deborah Sue Kutz and Brian, Franklin D. Lawson Jr., and Betty Jean Mings, six grandson's, eight great-grandchildren, one newly born great-great-grandchild, two sisters, Betty Dean and Mary McCallister, and one brother, Howard Lathrom, as well as many nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was truly loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
