Donald 'Don' Ray Wurner

February 26, 1958 — June 18, 2011

Donald Ray Wurner, was born to John Wurner and Dorothy (Borden) Wurner, on February 26, 1958 in the United States Army Base Hospital in Landstuhl, Germany and passed away on June 18, 2011 in the Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri, following a very short illness. He was 53 years, 3 months and 23 days of age.
Donald arrived in the United States with his parents at three months of age. He grew up in Ojai, California and graduated from Nordof High School. Following graduation, he worked as a deputy sheriff for several years in Ventura County, California. He moved to Norwood, Missouri in September of 1996. He was employed as an over the road truck driver until his death.
Donald enjoyed being outdoors, especially when boating, skiing, and gardening.
He is survived by two sons: Daniel Wurner of Sacramento, California, and Michael Wurner of Seattle, Washington; one grandson; one granddaughter; his mother and step-father: Dorothy and Sonny Stroud, of Norwood, Missouri; his father and step-mother: John and Denise Wurner of Roseburg, Oregon; one sister: Susan Wurner of Olympia, Washington; two uncles: Clyde Borden and his wife, Ann, of Gladstone, Oregon, and Hart Wurner and his wife, Angelia, of Houston, Texas; two aunts: Helen Clary of Mtn. Grove, Missouri and Judy Clark of Branson, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.
