Donald Raymond Shrout

Donald Raymond Shrout, son of the late Joseph Gann and Letha (York) Kempski, was born on October 29, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, and passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 while camping with his family, at 63 years of age.
He grew up and attended school in Illinois and had lived in Missouri for many years.
Donald was united in marriage to Frances “Sugie” Sullins on August 5, 1969 in Licking, Missouri. He was a construction contractor for several years.
Donald’s favorite things to do were, camping with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was an avid mushroom hunter and could spot one a mile away.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Frances Shrout; his father: Joseph Gann; his mother: Letha June Kempski; two step-fathers: Hank Shrout and Casimer Kempski; two brothers: Terry and Mike Shrout; one granddaughter: Nature Dawn Shrout; and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his five daughters and their spouses and children: Peggi and Billy Payton of Meansville, Georgia, Pamela and Norman Lewis of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, Deborah and John Goforth of Plato, Missouri, Bessie “Kathie” and Thomas Volner of Norwood, Missouri, and Rayna Shrout and her fiancé, Gregory Tiscareno of Licking, Missouri; grandchildren: Billy, Jedidiah, and Willa Payton, Lane and Vanessa Lewis, Sarah and Scotty Shannon, Nature Rayne Shrout, Jasmine Stafford, Koda and Ethan Bruton, Kyler Volner and Travis Tiscareno; one brother: Kimberly Shrout and his wife, Linda, of Illinois, a sister-in-law: Lois Shrout of Rolla, Missouri; half-siblings: Janice Robbins of Raymondville, Missouri, David Gann, Sharon Brooks, Darrell Gann, Connie Fischer and Billy Gann of Washington State, Ronnie Gann of Springfield, Missouri, Lawrence and Marty Gann of Lebanon, Missouri, Shirley Hock of Illinois State, Jay Freddie, William and Travis Gann of Licking, Missouri; his step-mother: Nelda Gann of Licking, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews; He is also survived by many who considered him to be the only “Dad” they ever had. He loved all of his kids, blood or not, and will be very dearly missed by all.
