Donnie Lee Coonts

Donald Donnie Lee Coonts, son of the late Burrell and Zella Mae (Dennis) Coonts, was born on November 15, 1947 in Drury, Missouri and departed this life on May 26, 2015 at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 67 years, 6 months, and 11 days of age.
Donnie graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Army for two years. He then moved to Rochelle, Illinois, where he met and married Darlene Bienfang on April 24, 1971. Donnie worked in Illinois and later in Buffalo, Iowa, where they resided until 1981.
After moving back to Missouri in 1981, Donnie operated the Gentryville Store for many years. He then drove a truck until June of 1993, which was the year he suffered a major heart attack.
Donnie enjoyed his hot rods, jeepin with his family and friends, playing cards, going to auctions, fishing with Cody, teasing Cadi, and sharing a special handshake with her. Donnie loved spending time with his family and they will miss him very much.
Besides his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by one brother: Danny Joe Coonts.
He is survived by his wife: Darlene of the home; one son: Rocky Coonts and his wife, Doni, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; one step-son: Larry Coonts and his wife, Cindy; two brothers: David Coonts and his wife, Sue, of Cabool, Missouri, and Dean Coonts and his wife, Merrie, of Vanzant, Missouri; two sisters: Diann Smith and her husband, Danny, of Vanzant, Missouri, and Darla Beltz and her husband, Jim, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; four grandchildren: Cadi, Cody, Taylor, and Melissa; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
