Doris Turner

July 16, 1932 — June 22, 2023

Doris L. Turner, daughter of the late Cecil Owen and Vinney (Cosey) Bridges, was born July 16, 1932, in Keota, Oklahoma, and passed away June 22, 2023, at Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri. She was 90 years, 11 months, and 6 days of age.

Doris was born in Oklahoma but spent most of her young adult life in Tulare, California. In August of 1950, she was united in marriage to Eddie Turner, and they were blessed to have had almost 73 years together. Their union was also blessed with three children. In 1968 they moved to Norwood, Missouri, where they still resided, to raise their family. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren, who mattered most to her.

Doris worked at the H.D. Lee Factory in Hartville, Missouri, for several years as an assembly line inspector. She was a dedicated and committed worker who had a keen eye for detail. Doris was also dedicated to her community and was a member of the Norwood Community Betterment Club for several years. She volunteered countless hours of her time for community events such as, hosting senior citizens dinners at the Old Hotel and working concessions for the Saturday bluegrass music nights and Norwood Farmer’s Day. Doris brought warmth and joy to the lives of those around her.

Besides her parents, Doris was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie Turner of Norwood, Missouri; one son, David Turner and his wife, Laura, of Rogersville, Missouri; two daughters, Beth Cannon of Norwood, Missouri, and Carrie Daine and her husband, Francis, of Satellite Beach, Florida; five grandchildren, Ashley Bundy and her husband, Roy, Brandy Thomas and her husband, Joe, Dustin Cannon and his wife, Kendra, Kyle Turner and his wife, Ginger, and Cody Turner; eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
