Duane Kenneth Pearson, son of Kenneth Miller Pearson and Dorothy Ida Davis Pearson, was born April 22, 1932, in Pontiac, Illinois, and departed this life in his daughter’s home near Seymour, Missouri, at the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 22 days.

On May 28, 1955, he was united in marriage to Carol June Mix and to this union 7 children were born. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2014. He was also preceded in death by a son, Paul Pearson, daughter, Diane Elam, 2 brothers, David Pearson, and Ronnie Pearson.

D.K. is survived by sons, Mark Pearson of Sparta, Missouri, Steven Pearson of Gillette, Wyoming, and Mike Pearson and wife, Susan, of Crane, Missouri; daughters, Cheri McCormack and husband, Kent, of Seymour, Missouri and Debi Eads and husband, Gaylen, of Anderson, Missouri; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Sister Marilyn Pearson of Hazelwood, Wisconsin; son-in-law, Neal Elam, of Rogersville, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was born and raised in Illinois and after graduating from high school he entered the United States Navy where he served his country faithfully. He had worked at a telephone company in Illinois and after moving to Missouri with his family in 1972, he was a dairy farmer.

In his spare time, he was a talented woodworker and woodcarver, loved his horses, blacksmith work and always had a huge garden raising vegetables to share with family and friends. He lived a long life, and it is hard to give him up, but he was tired and ready to go on. We will cherish the special times we had together.
