Earlene E. Mayfield

Earlene E. Mayfield, daughter of the late Howard and Coral (Day) Hopping, was born on October 15, 1925 in Smithfield, Missouri in Jasper County and departed this life on November 12, 2015 at Ava Place in Ava, Missouri at 90 years of age.
Earlene married Jeral D. Kuykendall on August 24, 1946 in Reno, Nevada. They spent many years California together before moving to a farm in Vanzant, Missouri. They greatly enjoyed spending time on the farm together. Jeral passed away in 1976.
Earlene married Orland Bud Mayfield on June 9, 1986. They shared many happy years in Thornfield, Missouri. They traveled together and Earlene enjoyed being involved in the church.
She loved to quilt and had made many beautiful quilts over her lifetime.
Besides her parents, Earlene was preceded in death by her first husband, Jeral Kuykendall, step-son, Troy Mayfield, daughter, Lois Coltier, and her sister, Mildred Colvert.
She is survived by her loving husband, Orland Bud Mayfield and his children: Buddy Mayfield and his wife, Gloria, and Lee Mayfield and his wife, Sonda, step-daughter-in-law: Doris Mayfield, seven step-grandchildren, nineteen step-grandchildren, and eleven step-great-great-grandchildren. She was also a special aunt to her nieces and nephews. Earlene was dearly loved by her family, her many friends, and her family at Ava Place. She will be greatly missed.


Visitation: Monday, November 16, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

Funeral Service: Monday, November 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery
