Edna Geneva Mitchell

Edna Geneva Mitchell, daughter of the late Edmund and Annie (Cooper) Rutter, was born February 26, 1915 in Wright County, Missouri, and passed away October 18, 2008 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 93 years, 7 months, and 20 days of age.
Edna grew up in the Fairmount community and attended Fairmount country school. She was saved and baptized at a young age. Edna was united in marriage to Boyd Everett Richardson on July 25, 1937. Four children were born to this union. Mr. Richardson passed away on May 10, 1944. In 1956, Edna married Tom Murin. Mr. Murin passed away in 1964. In 1971, Edna married Walter Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell passed away in 1978.
Edna enjoyed tending to her flowers and also working in her garden. She also liked sewing and working with ceramics in her spare time.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with all of her children. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents and husbands, Edna was preceded in death by one daughter: Evelyn Sue Delcour; two brothers: Marion Rutter and Orville Rutter; four sisters: Maude Raye, Jane Huffman, Eunice Sutton, and Nellie Burns; and by a great-granddaughter: Ellen Elizabeth White.
She is survived by two sons: Jack Richardson and wife, Judy, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri and Boyd Richardson and wife, Sharon, of Blue Springs, Missouri; one daughter: Betty L. Jones and husband, Jim, of Odessa, Missouri; one brother: Floyd Rutter and wife, Betty, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
Visitation:
Wednesday, October 22, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
