Edward Leon Kennedy

Edward Leon Kennedy, son of the late Edward H. and Esther L. (Alvey) Kennedy, was born on January 15, 1947 in Peoria, Illinois, and departed this life on January 5, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was 69 years, 11 months, and 21 days of age.
Edward and his first wife had two children together, Sherri and Sheila. They later divorced. He met Teresa Daniels and they had four children together, Edward III, Jose, Anber, and Tracy.

Edward was a retired independent flooring specialist. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring vintage cars and racing stock cars. He also enjoyed shooting pool and fishing and hunting.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by Teresa of their home, two sons, Edward (Scooter) Kennedy III and Sheri Thompson, and Jose (JR) Kennedy and Amanda James all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, four daughters, Anber and Fred Noe of Strafford, Missouri, Sherri Kennedy of Morton, Illinois, Sheila and Kris Fugitt of East Peoria, Illinois, Tracie Ortega and Breeland Davis of Peoria, Illinois, fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.


Visitation: Saturday, January 7, 2017, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
