Edwin 'Ed' Lee Dennis

December 13, 1941 — July 6, 2009

Edwin “Ed” Lee Dennis, son of the late Foster Lee and Elma Dessie (Kelley) Dennis, was born on December 13, 1941 in Norwood, Missouri and departed this life on July 6, 2009 in the Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri, following a short illness. He was 67 years, 6 months, and 22 days of age.
Ed grew up and attended school in the Norwood area and graduated from Norwood High School in 1960. He was united in marriage to Earlene Stambaugh on August 11, 1961 at Oak Grove and three daughters were born to this union, Pamela, Patricia, and Aleth. He was a mechanic and farmer all his life and for over twenty years he operated a radiator shop where he met many friends.
Ed enjoyed doing many things throughout his life and was known as “Jack of all Trades.” He loved being outdoors, especially when farming, hunting, fishing and tinkering on Farmall tractors. He also liked to watch NASCAR racing and do woodworking projects. He and Earlene enjoyed raising Dachshunds.
Ed was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor and friend. He loved spoiling his grandchildren with candy. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him,
Ed was saved and baptized at a young age and had recently rededicated his life to the Lord.
He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years: Earlene Dennis of their home; three daughters and sons-in-law: Pamela Jean and John Cook of Oak Grove, Kentucky, Patricia Lee and Donald Finch, and Aleth June and Joseph Rogers, all of Norwood, Missouri; six grandchildren: Donavan Lee Finch and his wife, Josey, Danyiel Lee Pridemore and her husband, Anthony, Allan Glenn Cook, Jamie Elizabeth Cook, MiKayla Renee Rogers, and William Joseph Rogers; great-granddaughter: MacieMae Danyiel Pridemore; and a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends.


Funeral Service:
Wednesday, July 8, 2009, 10:00 AM at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church, north of Norwood, Missouri.
Visitation:
Tuesday July 7th - 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel
Burial:
Oak Grove Cemetery
