Edythe Jewel Miller

October 30, 1925 — December 12, 2022

Shirley, Sharon, Bobby and David cherished their mother. Edythe was also loved by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren who were blessed by her for 97 years.

She was from a large family, being the youngest of 10 children. Edythe started her own family with Ralph Splain who predeceased her. She later had many years of marriage with the late Harry Miller.

Edythe’s jobs included preparing food for students at the Seymour School cafeteria, sewing jeans for Lee Manufacturing, and cooking at the 76 Truck Stop.

She was very skilled at quilting and often made pot holders for friends and family. She was also very talented in the kitchen, her brown beans were one of her specialties.

Edythe would often encourage her family by saying, “Remember, if you’re mad, you’ve got the same clothes to get glad in.”

She will be remembered for the legacy of family, hard work, and love that she left behind. She was known to be a joyous person who had a beautiful smile. Whenever there was lively music she enjoyed clapping along. Edythe was a sweet lady who brightened others lives.

The family wishes to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to her long term caregiver, Veronica who took care of her like family.

Any donations to a charity of your choice may be made in Edythe’s honor.

A private memorial will be held at a later time.
