Elizabeth "Liz" Jones

November 18, 1953 — September 24, 2021

Elizabeth Ann Jones, daughter, of Norman Ceila Sawyers and Mavis Nadine Cook Sawyers, was born November 18, 1953 in Mansfield, Missouri and departed this life on September 24, 2021 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi at the age of 67 years, 10 months, and 6 days.

On November 18, 1971, she was united in marriage to Thomas Jones in Mansfield, Missouri, and to this union three children were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Norman, Donald, and Bump, granddaughter, Abbigal, and grandson, Brison.

Liz is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Tom, of the home; son, Michael Jones and wife, Serina, of Mansfield; two daughters, Charlotte Coffman and husband, Matt, of Hartville, Kimberly Ivy and husband, Casey, of Mansfield; brothers, Vernon Sawyers and wife, Sharon, of Hartville, twin brother, Ronnie Sawyers and wife, Della, of Hartville, Roger Sawyers and wife, Marlene of Seymour, and Doc Sawyers and wife, Joy, of Hartville; sisters, Virgie Davis of Springfield, and Vickie Benson and Ronnie, of Seymour, grandchildren, Tyler, Trey (Taylor), Tiffany (Dakota), Samantha, Cody (Glenda), Adam, Emilee, Alyssa, Ashley, Hailey, Dana, Eastyn, and Raelynn; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Brock, Henley, Haisley, Isabella, Emma and a great-grandson, Cole, on the way; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

She was raised in Hartville where she attended Hartville schools. She worked at Hutchens Industries for 14 years, Shelters, and for the last few years worked as a housekeeper but being a wife, homemaker, and raising her family was the most important part of her life.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and baptized many years ago and was a longtime member of the Pentecostal Church.

In her spare time, she loved fishing, going to garage sales and auctions, spending all the time she could with kids and grandkids, and an “occasional trip” to the casino.

She was a fighter, beating breast cancer and fighting Covid-19 for 64 days and on the ventilator for 49 of those days, but we know she is now resting with no suffering and going to live in eternity with the one she has placed her trust in for many, many years, Jesus Christ, and how can it get any better than that.
