Elma 'Jean' Shaw

Elma “Jean” Shaw, daughter of the late Marion Jesse and Lola Elma (Long) Middleton, was born on June 12, 1932 in Wright County, Missouri and departed this life suddenly on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at her residence near Mtn. Grove, Missouri. She was 78 years, 2 months and 7 days of age.
Jean grew up and attended school in Wright County. She was united in marriage to Curtis Shaw on June 30, 1950 in Yellville, Arkansas. One son was born to this union. Jean was a homemaker who enjoyed taking pride in her yard and flower gardens and taking care of her family. She and Curtis worked together in their earlier years in a construction business and later they ran a dairy farm for twenty-one years.
Jean was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with her many friends, and will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
At the time of her passing, Jean and Curtis were attending the Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church near Mtn. Grove, where they enjoyed being in services and visiting with their church family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Irene Bradshaw.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty years: Curtis Shaw of their home; her son and daughter-in-law: Charles and Paula Shaw of Mtn. Grove; two sisters: Lola Skaggs and her husband, Archie, and Wanda Gaddis and her husband, Maxie, all of Mtn. Grove; three grandchildren: Kenneth Shaw, Angela Walker, and Elizabeth Shaw; three great-grandchildren: Tabitha Shaw, Peyton Walker and Addison Walker; one great-great-grandchild: Rylee McKinney; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral Services:
Monday, August 23, 10:00 AM at Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church northwest of Mtn. Grove.
Visitation: No Formal

Ready for Viewing: Sunday, August 22, 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

Hillcrest Cemetery
