Elza Lawrence Jarrett

June 14, 1944 — May 1, 2017

Elza Lawrence Jarrett, son of the late Jesse Howard and Olive Laverne (Irvin) Jarrett, was born June 14, 1944 in Texas County, Missouri, and passed away May 1, 2017 at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 72 years, 10 months, and 17 days of age.
Elza was raised in Texas County and attended school at Cherry Point and Mountain Grove Schools. In his younger years, Elza loved spending time hunting, motorcycle racing, water skiing, tubing, and boating. Elza married Karen Booth on January 8, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They enjoyed spending time at their place at Theodosia Lake fishing and lure hunting. He also enjoyed wood working in his shop. He especially enjoyed his grandkids and great-grandkids and the times they spent together.
Elza worked as an electrician for many years around the Mountain Grove area. He was saved and baptized at an early age and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mountain Grove as long as his health permitted.
Besides his parents, Elza was preceded in death by his young daughter, Tammy Ann Jarrett. Tammy was born November 30, 1967 and passed away November 28, 1973. He was also preceded by two brothers, Ruben and Walter Jarrett and by one sister, Avis Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, one son, Joe Rogers and his wife, Aleth, of Norwood, Missouri, two daughters, Debbie Rich and her husband, Tracy, of Mountain Grove, and Connie Moore and her husband, Terry, of Hartville, Missouri, one brother, Norman Jarrett and his wife, Sandra, of Theodosia, Missouri, four sisters, Emma Nungesser of Mountain Grove, Grace Gott of Kansas City, Kansas, Barbara Barnes of Mountain Grove, and Dorothy Harris and her husband, Vic, of Lebanon, Missouri, five grandchildren, Stephanie Bradshaw, Nathan Rich, Melanie MacDonald, Mikayla Dusenberry, and W.J. Rogers, eight great-grandchildren, Kylee, Jackson, Harrison, Gunner, BrookLynn, Brody, Hudson, and Rylee, and many other family and friends who will greatly miss him.
