Emajean Raney

July 19, 1930 — November 12, 2020

Emajean Raney, daughter of the late William Cleveland and Julia Caroline (Carder) Longwell, was born July 19, 1930, in Houston, Missouri, and went to be with the Lord on November 12, 2020, at Grandview Assisted Living in Grove, Oklahoma. She was 90 years, 3 months, and 24 days of age.

Emajean held a deep and abiding faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! She grew up in the Rayborn Community and attended Dewey, a one-room, country, school house. Emajean married Floyd C. Raney on May 15, 1964, in Mountain Grove, Missouri.

Emajean worked at Wenzel’s Grocery, Cloud Toy Company, later known as Fordick Corporation, and also owned and operated the Triangle Restaurant in Mountain Grove. Later she helped her husband manage Raney’s Auto Sales and Raney’s gas station in Mountain Grove. In her spare time she enjoyed and took great pride in cultivating and tending to the many flowers, shrubs, and trees in her yard. A very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a great cook and loved cooking for her family, displaying that love through the special preparation of many delicious meals. Her grandchildren were her life and she greatly loved and adored each and every one of them.

Besides her parents, Emajean was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, in 2009, five brothers, Tom, Raymond, Elvis, Robert, and Richard Longwell, two sisters, Martha Splechter and Rhoda Biggers.

She is survived by two sons, Melvin Stillwell and his wife, Christy, and Bill Raney all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, two daughters, Suzette McGuire and her husband, John, and Lounette Haste all of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, one sister, Lucy Harms of Mountain Grove, thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.
