Esther Lavelle (Dobbs) Champ

September 18, 1935 — May 8, 2013

Esther Lavelle Champ, daughter of the late Albert Newton and Etta Marie (Carder) Dobbs, was born on September 18, 1935 in Manes, Missouri, and departed this life on May 8, 2013, with her family at her side, in the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Missouri. She was 77 years of age.
Esther grew up and attended school in the Manes area. She was united in marriage to Richard Champ on November 12, 1953 in Kingman, Arizona. Two sons were born to this union. They made their home in the Mtn. Grove Community for many years.
Esther enjoyed being outdoors, especially when tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She also liked working with their cattle and watching the baby calves each spring. She never looked forward to selling the babies every year.
Esther worked as an in-home aid. She loved her job and enjoyed taking care of others that needed her.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She looked forward to spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Esther enjoyed attending the Almost Home Ministries in Mtn. Grove as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed the services and visiting with those around her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Champ on August 7, 1988; one brother: Albert Dobbs; and by two sisters: Laverne Prock and Lois Davis.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law: Mike and Patricia Champ and David and Patti Champ, all of Mtn.
