Fay Woods Stout

November 30, 1912 — October 30, 2008

Fay E. Woods, daughter of the late John and Rena (Carr) Woodward, was born on November 30, 1912 in Douglas County, Missouri, and departed this life on October 30, 2008 in the Forsyth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Forsyth, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 95 years and 11 months of age.
Fay grew up in Douglas County and was united in marriage to Earl Woods on March 6, 1929. Eight children were born to this union. Fay lived most of her life in the Mtn. Grove, Missouri area. Mr. Woods preceded her in death on June 6, 1962.
Fay was later married to Bill Stout for a short time and he also preceded her in death. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. She cared deeply for her family and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She served in a variety of ways in several country churches and pastored the Mtn. Grove Full Gospel Church for several years. She loved to sing for area revivals whenever possible.
Besides her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by sons: Paul Woods in 1959, Wayne Woods in 1971 and by two infant sons at birth; one brother: Elbert Woodward; and by two sisters: Mae Cowden and Lillian Sherrell.
She is survived by two sons and their wives: Herbert and Imogene Woods of Springfield, Missouri and Norris and Ilene Woods of Vanzant, Missouri; two daughters: Jean Altis of Forsyth, Missouri and Karen Warnick of Osage Beach, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
